Nicolas Ortega is an experienced researcher and educator specializing in economics and innovation policies. Currently serving in the Mission-Oriented Innovation Research division at the OECD since June 2025, Nicolas has contributed to the MOIP Online Toolkit and engaged in research supporting the implementation of innovation policies through universities and agencies. Previous roles include working as a consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank and as a relationship manager for the OECD at the Colombian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Nicolas has also held teaching assistant positions at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne and has experience as a statistician in the International Migration Division at the OECD. With a focus on open macroeconomics, fiscal and monetary policy, and international economics, Nicolas holds multiple advanced degrees from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
