Birgit Niessner is currently the Director of the Economic Analysis and Research Department at Oesterreichische Nationalbank. Prior to this, Birgit held various analytical and research positions at Raiffeisen Bank International AG, Posojilnica Bank eGen, European Investment Bank, and Erste Group Bank AG. With a background in economics and development studies, Birgit holds a PhD from WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) and a Master of Science from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
