Steve Helfet

Steve Helfet has a diverse work experience in the railway and transportation industry. Steve is currently working at the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) as the Deputy Director of Railway Operations. Prior to this, they were employed at West Midlands Trains, where they held various roles including Head of Workforce Strategy, Head of Performance, Head of Senior Conductors, and Head of Route for the West Coast. Before joining West Midlands Trains, Steve was Head of Route for the West Coast at London Midland. In addition, they have also worked at Transport for London as the Head of Operations for the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), and at Serco Docklands as a Performance & Benchmarking Manager.

Steve Helfet obtained their MA in Geography from the University of Cambridge from 1998 to 2001. Subsequently, they pursued an MSc (with Distinction) in Business Studies at Aston University from 2002 to 2003.
