Allen Mayer

Allen Mayer serves as the Chief of Staff for the Illinois State Treasurer since January 2015, overseeing a staff of over 170 employees and managing a significant operational budget. Previously, Mayer held the positions of General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel in the State Treasurer’s Office, providing legal advice on various issues and supporting legislative initiatives. Prior experience includes service as Deputy General Counsel for the Illinois Department of Commerce, Special Counsel for the Illinois State Comptroller, and a County Board Member in Peoria County. Mayer has a JD from the University of Illinois College of Law and a BA in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
