Rod Lopez has a diverse work experience in the field of graphics and software development. Rod started their career in 2002 as a Senior Programmer at DICE, where they contributed to the development of a new graphic engine for Battlefield Vietnam. Rod later joined Ubisoft Montreal as a Team Lead and Software Architect, where they worked on the PC version of FarCry2 and led the graphic technology for Shaun White Snowboarding. At Ubisoft, they also developed a popular alternative graphic system used in games like Prince of Persia.
Rod then joined Immersion Corporation as a 3D lead in the R&D department, where they integrated gaming technology with graphic content and soft tissue simulation for surgical simulators. Rod also co-founded Pigsel Technologies, a development group focused on game engine technology licensing.
In 2012, Rod joined Aristocrat Technologies as a Lead Programmer for their mobile division. However, the division was short-lived due to strategy changes. Rod later worked as a Fellow at Unity Technologies, where they worked on designing and writing the Standard Shader and power management in the mobile context.
Rod also founded Skargard Labs, a company that developed an AI-driven energy management system. Currently, they are working as the Head of Graphics at AugmentCity, where they deal with large-scale graphic challenges in city and country-scale environments.
Additionally, Rod has served as a Strategic Advisor at STILRIDE and has achieved notable accomplishments throughout their career, including architecture design, managing teams, and contributing to the development of innovative graphic technologies.
Rod Lopez completed an Associate of Science degree in Technology Engineering from Grantham School of Engineering from 1992 to 1994. Prior to that, they pursued a degree in Business Administration from Columbus International College, where they earned an Associate of Business degree between 1989 and 1991.
