Gary Fildes has a solid work experience background that spans over several industries.

Gary started their career at MediaCom in 2002 as an IT/IS Manager, where they played a pivotal role in shaping the organization's IT and Security Infrastructure. Gary stayed with MediaCom for five years and greatly enjoyed the culture and people there.

In 2007, Gary joined GroupM as an IT/IS Manager for the EMEA region. Gary held this position for two years and was responsible for managing the IT and security needs of the organization.

After GroupM, Gary joined Pearson plc in 2010 as a Senior IT Trainer. In this role, they trained and mentored young individuals aged 16-24 in IT skills, helping them start successful careers in IT. Gary'straining included a range of certifications and apprenticeships, and they also provided extensive career guidance and advice.

In 2012, Gary embarked on a new chapter and started their own company called Gary Fildes. Gary worked as a Microsoft Security Technical Trainer and Consultant, providing training and consultancy services to the US Military in Europe. Gary specialized in helping service personnel achieve DoD8750 Certification in Windows, CISCO Networking, and Security.

After running their own company for two years, Gary joined Firebrand Training in 2012 as a Microsoft, CompTIA, and Lead Apprenticeship Instructor. Gary played a crucial role in training and mentoring apprentices, helping them gain knowledge and increase their career prospects. Gary also contributed to courseware development and provided financial planning and CV writing services.

In 2014, Gary briefly worked as the Company Owner/Director at Surpasser Limited, where they provided technical training for Microsoft Windows products and CompTIA certifications to commercial, government, and military clients.

Gary then joined the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) in 2015 as a Cyber Security and Information Security Inspector. In this role, they ensured the maintenance of safe and secure cyber operations in the UK Civil Nuclear Sector. Gary conducted assessments on cyber security arrangements, including information and operational technology, against various industry standards and frameworks.

In 2018, Gary took on a role at CompTIA as a Cyber Ready Mentor/Instructor. Gary trained and mentored individuals aspiring to enter the cybersecurity field, helping them achieve CompTIA certifications and providing knowledge on risk management, incident response, and cloud technology.

Most recently, in 2023, Gary joined Ofgem as a Regulatory Cyber Assurance Principal. Gary'sresponsibilities include providing leadership on risk-based assurance activity for the UK energy regulator, ensuring compliance with the NIS Regulations 2018 for the Downstream Gas and Electricity sector.
