Quality Inspector

Ohio Gasket and Shim is a Stamping and Fabrication shop that is seeking a Quality Inspector

The hours for a full-time 1st Shift Position - flexible hours - M-TH 10 hrs or M-F 8 hrs or M-TH 9 hrs & F 4 hrs - starting time can be discussed.  

Essential Functions

• Understand and follow OGS quality system requirements

• Review and understand customer requirements

• Provide documentation and results during Receiving, Layout, In-Process, and Final Inspection

• Develop and Follow Inspection Plan Documents (IPD's) that provide a basis for making quality decisions in accordance with customer requirements and OGS procedures.

• Properly use inspection equipment, product inspection techniques, system software, and follow established OGS quality system procedures, and work instructions.

• Review quality defects occurring in production.  Form teams in order to investigate root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.

• Complete quality reports, customer returned product, or part failure analysis.

• Other duties as assigned

Equipment Used 

• Wide variety of mechanical inspection-type measuring equipment (i.e. dial/digital micrometers, calipers, height gages, CMM, optical comparator, and hardness instruments).

Skills and Requirements

• Drawing interpretation including GD&T

• This position requires working in both an office and shop environment
