Raphaël Lescouzères has a diverse and extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Raphaël started their career at OHB SE in 2003 as a System Engineer for Ground Segment, where they worked until 2010. During this time, they also held the position of Propulsion Engineer from 2006 to 2010. Subsequently, they became the ExoMars MTP Technical Responsible from 2010 to 2016. In 2014, they took on the role of ExoMars Carrier Module Lead Systems Engineer. From 2019 to 2021, they served as the HERA Lead Systems Engineer, responsible for coordinating the engineering team and acting as the technical interface to subcontractors and customers (ESA). In the same period, they also acted as the Team leader for Satellite Systems Engineering, overseeing a team of 23 members working on satellite projects. Since February 2021, they have been the Head of Department at OHB SE for the Satellite Systems Engineering department, leading the seven teams within the division. Prior to their time at OHB SE, Raphaël worked as a Development/AIT Engineer at the European Southern Observatory from 2001 to 2003.
Raphaël Lescouzères completed their education at Pierre and Marie Curie University from 2000 to 2001. During this time, they earned a DEA en Astrophysique et Instrumentations associées, which is a Diploma d’Études Avancées equivalent to a Master's degree in Astrophysics and related instrumentation. Raphaël also attended Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy from 1998 to 2001, where they obtained an Ingénieur Civil des Mines degree, which is equivalent to a Master's degree in Engineering.
