Tracy Taylor is an experienced professional with a strong background in program administration and coordination, currently serving as Program Administrator for P-16 Initiatives at the Ohio Department of Higher Education since July 2013. Tracy has successfully managed over 250 exhibitors for a statewide education technology conference and has held various roles involving communication, project management, and budget oversight within the State of Ohio from December 1997 to July 2013. Tracy's earlier experience includes serving as Deputy Recorder for Stark County and an internship at Centre Daily Times. Educational credentials include a Certificate in Public and Nonprofit Leadership focused on Organizational Leadership from The Ohio State University, as well as dual Bachelor’s degrees in Mass Media Communication from The University of Akron.
Ohio Department of Higher Education
The Ohio Department of Higher Education (formerly known as the Ohio Board of Regents) is a Cabinet-level agency for the Governor of the State of Ohio that oversees higher education for the state. The agency’s main responsibilities include authorizing and approving new degree programs, managing state-funded financial aid programs, and developing and advocating policies to maximize higher education’s contributions to the state and its citizens. As a member of the Governor’s Cabinet, the Chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education advises the Governor on higher education policy and implements the Governor’s plan to make college more affordable for Ohioans and drive the state’s economic advancement through its network of public universities, regional campuses, community colleges, and adult workforce and adult education centers. Chancellor John Carey was appointed the ninth Chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents in April of 2013.
