Chris Tavenor has a diverse work experience spanning various fields. From 2016 to the present, Tavenor has been associated with the Ohio Environmental Council, initially as a legal intern and subsequently taking on roles as a staff attorney, law fellow, and most recently as the Associate General Counsel & Managing Director of Democracy Policy. In 2019, Tavenor also served as the Director of Editorial Services at Two Doctors Media Collaborative. In addition, Tavenor held positions as a research assistant at Moritz College of Law from 2015 to 2017, a legal intern at the Ohio General Assembly in 2016, and an intern at the U.S. Department of Energy in 2015. Tavenor's early work experience includes working as a summer camp counselor at Lutheran Outdoor Ministries of Ohio in 2014 and as a student assistant in the Patient Experience Department at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center from 2012 to 2013.

Chris Tavenor pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 2011 to 2014, they attended The Ohio State University, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and also pursued a minor in English. Subsequently, from 2014 to 2017, they attended The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where they achieved a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with a focus on Law.
