Susan Kent

Susan Kent has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Susan most recently worked at Ohio Mutual Insurance Group as the VP & Chief Analytics Officer, where they managed the pricing function, promoted the use of analytics, and led customer loyalty and retention efforts. Prior to that, they held various roles at Nationwide Insurance, including VP, Actuarial Risk Segmentation, where they oversaw credit risk management and directed enhancements to the bank data warehouse. Susan also worked at Shelby Insurance Company, where they analyzed reserves and managed the pricing function for personal lines products. Early in their career, they held roles as a Senior Actuarial Analyst and Actuarial Analyst at Nationwide Insurance, where they appraised loss reserves and developed spreadsheet tools.

Susan Kent's education history begins in 1979 when they attended Bucyrus High School. Susan graduated from high school in 1983 and went on to pursue higher education. From 1983 to 1987, Susan attended The College of Wooster, where they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Following this, they attended the University of Michigan from 1987 to 1989, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Mathematics.

In addition to their formal education, Susan also holds several certifications. In 1993, they became a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. In 2001, they achieved the designation of Fellow in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS). In 2007, Susan obtained the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter certification from The Institutes. Most recently, in September 2020, they earned the CPCU in Good Standing certification from The Institutes.
