Karl Douglass

An advocate with decades of experience around the Southeast, Karl Douglass has deep relationships with public sector leadership in municipalities in Middle and South Georgia. He formerly chaired the Planning Advisory and Water Commissions, and is a current member of the Downtown Development Authority in Muscogee. A native of the state, Karl has advised a number of prominent elected officials, including Congressman Sanford Bishop, former Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson and Dean of the Georgia House of Representatives, Calvin Smyre. Prior to politics, Karl served as a corporate officer with Aflac for fourteen years as second vice president and director of producer licensing, where he led the business unit responsible for contract administration and licensing insurance associates in the U.S. Karl earned a Bachelor of Arts from Yale and a Masters of Education from University of Georgia.
