Megan Handle

Megan Handle is an accomplished professional with diverse experience in leadership, civic engagement, and social work. Currently serving as an UpBEAT Program Assistant with OhioHealth, Megan previously held roles as a Young Leaders Civic Action Fellow at Democracy House and a Diversity Leadership Ambassador at Ohio University. As President of the Ohio University Student Senate, Megan founded The Period Project to provide access to free period products campus-wide, initiated programs for personal safety products, and sponsored various events focused on women's issues. Additionally, through a Democracy House Fellowship, Megan contributed to leadership development aimed at strengthening democracy. With a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Ohio University, Megan has also gained practical experience as a Social Work Intern at Athens County Children Services and has served as an Assistant Professor of English at Instituto de Educacion Superior- Tupungato.
