Roel Schrijvers has extensive work experience in the legal field, with a focus on international commercial law. Roel has held various roles throughout their career, starting as a Legal Secretary and Paralegal at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek. Roel then worked as a Paralegal/Legal Counsel at Ashland Inc before joining the European Space Agency as a Procurement Consultant. Later, they established their own legal consultancy firm, Ius Consult, where they provided business-oriented solutions and advice to international corporations.

Schrijvers also worked as an Interim Legal Counsel at Brunel Legal, where they handled international contracts and provided research and advice on European procurement subjects. Roel then joined Flow Traders as a Senior Legal Counsel, focusing on contracts and providing research and advice on various regulatory frameworks.

In 2014, Schrijvers started working at the Ministry of Finance as a Legal Project Manager, where they managed large-scale projects and provided strategic legal advice. Roel later became a Senior Legal Counsel at the Dutch State Treasury Agency (DSTA), where they reviewed legal documentation and advised on the impact of new regulations. Roel also advised other departments on State-owned enterprises. During this time, they also served as a Legal Advisor to the Debt Management Office through a secondment from Brunel Nederland B.V.

From 2017 to 2019, Schrijvers founded SSTF, a clearing solution company, where they developed a clearing solution for PSAs and gained a deep understanding of capital requirements and regulatory frameworks.

Their most recent role is General Counsel at Ohpen, where they are responsible for legal matters within the company.

Roel Schrijvers has a diverse education history that spans various fields and institutions. In 2021, they completed a "Negotiation Mastery" program at Harvard Business School Online. The following year, in 2022, they attended an "Impact Negotiation" workshop focused on negotiation skills but did not obtain a degree.

In 2018 and 2019, Roel Schrijvers participated in the "Management Talent Programma Ministerie van Financiën" at ARDIS, where they studied management in the field of study. Roel Schrijvers has also pursued interests outside the legal and management fields. In 2008, they attended IPBC 2008 and studied IP law. Additionally, they obtained a certificate in Sonology from Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag in 1997 and briefly studied Industrial Design at Delft University of Technology in 1996.

Prior to their higher education, Roel Schrijvers attended Rijnlands Lyceum from 1990 to 1996, where they obtained their VWO diploma. Their studies at Rijnlands Lyceum covered various subjects, including Mathematics, Economics I, Chemistry, Physics, Dutch, English, and Art.

In addition to their formal education, Roel Schrijvers has obtained certifications in other areas. Roel holds the Jira Service Management Fundamentals Badge, the Confluence Fundamentals Badge, and the Jira Fundamentals Badge, which were obtained in 2023 from Atlassian.
