Malcolm Maclean is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in marine engineering and project management. Since June 2012, Malcolm has served as the Projects and Secondments Manager at Oil Spill Response Ltd, overseeing UK-sourced projects and managing both commercial and operational aspects. Prior to this role, Malcolm held the position of Global Asset Manager and Global Equipment and Dispersant Maintenance Manager from July 2019 to January 2024, ensuring readiness of equipment and stockpiles for emergency response. Malcolm's earlier career includes serving as Marine Engineering Business Development Manager at STS Defence Limited and as a Marine Engineer Officer in the Royal Navy for over three decades, culminating in significant roles such as Fleet Time Engineering Enhancements Manager and active duty aboard HMS York. Malcolm's educational background includes completion at Oban High School.

Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) is the largest international industry-funded oil spill response cooperative which exists to respond to oil spills wherever in the world they may occur, by providing oil spill preparedness, oil spill response and subsea well intervention services. We are wholly owned by several of the most environmentally responsible oil and gas companies, and our membership represents the majority of global oil production. We currently employ 275 people across 10 locations around the world.
