Sophia Mpourmpoula

Sophia Mpourmpoula is an experienced bunker trader, currently employed at Oilmar Shipping and Chartering DMCC since November 2022, specializing in back-to-back bunker trading and customer development. Prior to this role, Sophia served as a bunker trader trainee at Glander International Bunkering from May 2022 to October 2022, gaining expertise in day-to-day bunker and lubricant trading and knowledge of ports and physical suppliers. Additional experience includes an accounting internship at Star Bulk in 2021, where responsibilities encompassed financial record maintenance and familiarity with US GAAP accounting principles. Sophia's academic background includes a Master’s degree in Maritime Studies from the University of Piraeus and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Crete, complemented by a research assistantship focused on labor market monitoring in the Region of Crete from 2018 to 2020.
