Joan Ragsdale is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience in academic management and community relations. Currently serving as Regional Dean at Okanagan College since May 2016, Joan focuses on promoting and developing the Salmon Arm Campus and the Shuswap-Revelstoke region through strategic leadership and collaboration. Prior experience includes a role in Skill Development & Community Relations at School District No. 91 Nechako Lakes, enhancing organizational capacity and community partnerships for student pathways. Joan also held various positions at the College of New Caledonia from 1993 to 2014, culminating in the role of Regional Director, where administrative and academic activities were effectively managed. Joan's educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Northern British Columbia and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Victoria.

Okanagan College is a public post-secondary institution offering degrees, diplomas and certificates in a range of program areas, including business, trades, university transfer, developmental, and English as a Second Language. It offers a host of vocational certificates and programs. Okanagan College has strong linkages with its communities and with employment opportunities. Okanagan College is located in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of south central British Columbia, 350 kilometres east of Vancouver and 120 kilometres north of the U.S.A. border. It is an hour's flight from Vancouver, Calgary and Seattle. It is known for its friendly, safe environment, mild climate, spectacular mountain scenery and boasts a reputation as the location of Canada's foremost fruit growing, and wine-making industry.
