David Foster

Professor, Anesthesia Technology at Oklahoma City Community College

David began his career in healthcare after pursuing coursework in Emergency Medical Technology and obtaining the EMT-B National Registry Certification in 2004. He spent the next four years working in San Diego City’s busy 911 system as an EMT on multiple Paramedic units, responding to a plethora of high acuity medical and trauma calls. In 2007, he attended the Grossmont College Anesthesia Technology program and subsequently gained employment with the University of California San Diego Medical Center, where he spent the next eight years working to a high degree of clinical capacity in cardiac anesthesia, with a clinical focus on pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PTE) patients. From 2012-2015 he was the anesthesia tech supervisor at that organization. After relocating to Los Angeles in 2016, he decided to gain experience as a travel anesthesia tech and has spent the last three years completing multiple contracts throughout the state of California. He is very passionate about both the education and advancement of the profession and has been involved with the national organization ASATT for nine years, serving on the Board of Directors as an officer, on multiple committees as chair, and with the CAAHEP Committee on Accreditation for Anesthesia Technology Education (CoA-ATE).
