Talia Carroll

VP for Diversity & Inclusion at Oklahoma City University

Talia Carroll is the current Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion at Oklahoma City University. Talia has worked in this role since June 2020. Prior to that, they were an adjunct faculty member in the Leadership Studies department at the University of Northern Colorado from August 2015 to June 2020. There, they taught LEAD 100: Contemporary Leadership Theory to 25 undergraduate students and created curriculum centered on theory and practice to give students the information and skills to identify their leadership style and decisions around engagement. From August 2007 to August 2019, Talia was a Ph.D. student at Penn State University, where their dissertation topic was Understanding how academically talented undergraduate women of color in a merit based STEM program navigate their racial and academic identities. Before that, they served as a College Retention Coordinator at College Forward through AmeriCorps from July 2006 to July 2007. Finally, Talia was a Graduate Assistant for the Union Programming Board at the University of Oklahoma from August 2005 to July 2006.

Talia Carroll earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from Penn State University. Talia also holds a Master's degree in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Oklahoma, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English from the same school.
