Rafael Sherbu Cohen

Rafael Sherbu Cohen is a Senior Software Engineer at Okta since February 2024 and has been with Spera Security (acquired by Okta) since January 2023 in the same role. Previously, Rafael served as the Head of the DevOps Group in Israeli Military Intelligence - Unit 8200, overseeing three teams and 20 engineers, and also led an R&D team as an Embedded Software Team Lead. Rafael's early career included roles as an Embedded Software Engineer and a teaching assistant at Tel Aviv University, where a master's thesis led to a published paper. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Combined Physics and Mathematics, both from Tel Aviv University. Rafael also demonstrated leadership skills as the Captain of the D-Bug Robotics Team from 2012 to 2015.
