Esther Wangari Chege has a diverse and extensive work experience in accounting and finance. Esther started their career as a Payables Accounts Assistant at East African Breweries Ltd, where they contributed to process improvement, reconciled vendor accounts, and implemented an audit compliance system. Esther then moved on to become a Senior Treasury Accountant, participating in month-end close reporting processes and assisting the treasury manager in daily transactions. Esther later took on the role of Regional Financial Accountant at the same company, managing a team and ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to internal controls. After their time at East African Breweries Ltd, Esther worked as a Financial Control-Supply Finance Manager at Diageo Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC, where they led budget planning, managed financial analysis, and provided insights for future performance improvement. Esther is currently the Head of Accounting at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where they oversee all accounting and reporting functions, manages partnerships, and ensures statutory compliance. Throughout their career, Esther has demonstrated strong financial leadership and a focus on improving profitability.
Esther Wangari Chege completed their Masters in Commerce with a specialization in Finance and Accounting option from KCA University, from the year 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree with a specialization in Finance and Banking option from Egerton University, from the year 2002 to 2006. In addition to their degrees, they also hold a certification as a Certified Public Accountant, obtained from the institution kasneb in June 2014.
