Sujay Sarkar

Sujay Sarkar has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Sujay started their career as an Executive Audit at Ernst & Young, where they conducted statutory audits and tax audits for various companies. Sujay then worked at Seagram, Group Pernod Ricard as an Executive Finance, managing financial reporting, budgeting, treasury operations, and audits.

Following this, Sujay joined GENPACT as a Manager focused on US GAAP financial reporting, where they led teams and played a key role in achieving SOX certification for GE Consumer Finance in Australia. Sujay then served as CFO and Assistant Vice President of Financial Control at Indiabulls Group, overseeing finance, taxation, and regulatory reporting for their credit services and housing finance divisions.

Sujay later took on the role of Chief Financial Officer at Strategic Value Partners, LLC, a global private equity and hedge fund group, where they were responsible for managing financial operations and investments. Most recently, they joined Olam Agri as the Senior Vice President and Group Head of Corporate Finance. In this role, they oversee global corporate finance, manages financial reporting, formulates budgets and strategic plans, ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and leads audits across a vast network of subsidiaries.

Throughout their career, Sujay has demonstrated strong leadership skills, successfully managing large teams and complex financial operations. Sujay has also been involved in significant financial transactions, such as private placements and pre-acquisition tax cases. Their expertise extends to various sectors, including agri commodities, industrial raw materials, and banking and financial services.

Sujay Sarkar's education history includes completing a driving digital transformation course at IMD in 2020. In the same year, they also completed a program on leading with data and analytics at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. In 2017, Sujay attended the Yale School of Management for a program on leading and managing globally. Prior to that, they obtained the degree of Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India between 1997 and 2001. Sujay also holds a B.Com(Hons) degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce, completed in 1997. They completed their Class XII from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in 1994 and Class X from the same school in 1992. Additionally, Sujay has obtained certifications in various subjects such as executive presence, strategic thinking, and six sigma quality tools.
