Michael Flenthrope

Michael Flenthrope has extensive experience in language acquisition and education, currently serving as the Director of Language Acquisition and District Coordinator for ELL and World Language Programs at Olathe School District since August 2016. In addition, Michael works as a Teacher Leader Consultant for the Kansas Department of Education since August 2022. Previously, Michael held the position of District ELL and World Language Specialist at Shawnee Mission School District from July 2010 to June 2015, where responsibilities included coordinating ESOL secondary programs and serving as the Foreign Exchange Coordinator. Michael's involvement in the Kansas World Language Association's executive board from 2012 to 2014 and experience as an adjunct instructor at MidAmerica Nazarene University further demonstrate a commitment to professional development in language education. Michael holds a Master of Educational Leadership from Pittsburg State University and a Master of Education from MidAmerica Nazarene University, alongside a Bachelor of Education in Spanish, Bilingual Education, and ESOL from Kansas State University.
