Eric Weisel

Eric Weisel is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in modeling, simulation, and applied research. Currently serving as the Technical Director at Julia Semantics LLC since January 2014, Weisel leads efforts in data analytics, predictive assurance, and semantic computing technologies. In addition, Weisel holds the position of Associate Vice President for Applied Research at Old Dominion University, where strategic leadership is provided for research activities in collaboration with government and industry. Also at Old Dominion University, Weisel serves as the Executive Director of the Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center, overseeing innovation and workforce development programs. Previous roles include Chief Scientist at General Dynamics Information Technology and Principal at WernerAnderson, Inc. Weisel's military background includes service as a submarine officer in the US Navy. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Modeling and Simulation Engineering from Old Dominion University, an MS in Operations Research from the Florida Institute of Technology, and a BS in Mathematics from the United States Naval Academy.
