Dan Pope has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Dan started in 1989 as an Appropriate Technologist in the United States Peace Corps. From there, they worked as a Surety Bond Manager at Westfield Group from 1992 to 2000. Dan then joined Liberty Mutual Insurance as a Surety Claims Counsel from 2001 to 2006. Dan Pope then moved to Zurich Financial Services as a Senior Underwriting Officer, Surety, from 2006 to 2014. Dan continued working at Zurich North America as a Southwest Contract Surety Manager from 2014 to 2016 and as a Vice President from 2016 to 2018. Currently, they serve as the Senior Vice President of Underwriting at Old Republic Surety Company, a role they have held since March 2021.
Dan Pope completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with an English Minor, at The College of Wooster from 1984 to 1988. Dan then attended Cleveland State University - Cleveland-Marshall College of Law from 1997 to 2000, where they obtained their JD degree with a focus on Business and Insurance.
