Giana Phelan has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Giana started their career in 1985 at IBM Corporation as a Microelectronics Engineer and Project Leader, where they developed and implemented electronic packaging solutions for both internal and external customers. Giana also managed budgets, established schedules, and optimized assembly yield and reliability.

In 1996, Giana joined Eastman Kodak Company as a Technical Project Leader in Electronics Packaging Development, where they collaborated with external partners and established risk and reliability plans for image modules. Giana later became a Department Head in Research and Development, managing the strategic evolution of the photonics portfolio and accelerating focus towards functional printing technologies.

From 2000 to 2005, they worked in the fields of OLED Solid-State Lighting R&D and OLED Process Development, serving as a Process and Product Development Engineer and a Program Manager for Eastman Kodak Company.

In 2005, Giana became a Process and Project Engineer at MEMS Research & Development, where they mentored personnel in process development and executed joint development activities with Swiss-based companies.

From 2012 to 2020, Giana worked at OLEDWorks as the Director of OLED UX and later as the Director of Business Development. Giana was responsible for establishing market strategies, building industry awareness, and managing the product portfolio for OLED lighting panels. Giana also developed websites, collateral, and conference presence to promote the company's presence in the lighting industry.

Most recently, they joined VIAVI Solutions as a Program Manager in 2020 and later took on the role of Site Director, NPI Leader. Their responsibilities include leading new product introductions and managing the site's operations.

Giana Phelan completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Giana then pursued further education and obtained a Dual Degree in Product Development, consisting of a Master of Science in Business and Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, from Rochester Institute of Technology. Lastly, Giana completed their education with a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Specific start and end years for each degree are not provided.
