Javier De La Cuba has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Javier started their career in 1989 as a Project Manager at IBM Canada. Javier then moved on to Aviva in 1997, where they held multiple executive positions, including Executive Vice President of Business Services. At Aviva, they were responsible for various departments and projects, including e-Commerce, Information Technology, and Information Security.
In 2007, Javier assumed the role of President at JDL Cuba Technologies Inc and Vice President at the Peruvian Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Javier later joined Toronto Hydro as an IT Governance Program Director.
From 2010 to 2017, Javier worked at OLG, initially as the Vice President of Corporate Project Governance and later as the Executive Lead for Modernization. Javier played a pivotal role in the transformational program aimed at creating a modern and sustainable OLG while generating additional profit for the province of Ontario.
In 2017, Javier retired, focusing on their personal and family life.
Javier De La Cuba completed their education in the following institutions:
- From 2000 to 2002, they attended INSEAD, where they obtained a graduate degree in General Management Programme.
- Between 1976 and 1978, they pursued Master's studies in Computer Science at the Naval Postgraduate School.
- In 1976 to 1977, they also studied at the Naval Postgraduate School, obtaining a Master's degree in Computer Systems Management.
- Javier De La Cuba began their educational journey at Escuela Naval del Peru, where they earned their Bachelor's degree in Maritime Sciences from 1970 to 1974.
