Tom Humphreys

Tom Humphreys, CPCU, CLU, ChFC, CIC has a diverse work experience in the insurance and education fields. Tom is currently the Co-Founder of the Michigan School of Insurance, a role they have held since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of the Risk Management and Insurance Center and an Associate Professor of Insurance and Risk Management at The University of Olivet starting in August 2015. Tom also owns their own business, Humphreys and Associates, LLC, since October 2018. Tom has worked as an Educational Consultant for The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research since January 2019 and as a Technical Committee Consultant for Big I Michigan since June 2019. Tom was also a Board Member of the Michigan Auto Insurance Placement Facility from August 2017 to August 2019. In addition, Tom has experience as an Insurance Instructor for Kaplan Test Prep from January 2006 to August 2015. Tom served as a Board Member for Belding Area Schools from May 2001 to August 2015 and as a Board Member for Ionia County Intermediate Schl from June 2005 to July 2015.

Tom Humphreys, CPCU, CLU, ChFC, CIC holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (ABD) with a focus on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from Walden University, which they pursued until 2021. Tom received their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Telecommunications from Michigan State University between 1983 and 1987. In addition, Humphreys obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Kaplan University from 2013 to 2014.
