James Ducker

Senior Research Associate II at OliX Pharmaceuticals

James Ducker has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career.

James started in 2016 as an Education Volunteer at Ocean Discovery Institute, where they taught marine science classes to underprivileged children in San Diego. In 2016, they also worked as a Student Researcher at SEA Semester, conducting a field study on the effects of pH and alkalinity on phytoplankton communities.

In 2018, James worked as a R&D Laboratory Technician at Quidel on a temporary basis. James then joined Inova Diagnostics as a Chemist I, responsible for manufacturing antibody positive and negative controls for autoimmune diagnostic assays.

From 2018 to 2020, they worked at Gen-Probe (now Hologic) as an Oligonucleotide Chemist, primarily focusing on the development and processing of oligonucleotides for diagnostic assay products.

In 2020, James joined Hologic, Inc. as an Oligonucleotide Chemist II. James'srole included GMP manufacture and processing of oligonucleotides for diagnostic assays, purification and processing of proteins and antibodies for perinatal diagnostic tests, and new product and process development.

Currently, James Ducker is employed at OliX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Senior Research Associate II. The details of their responsibilities in this role are not provided.

James Ducker attended Dulwhich College Beijing High School from 2009 to 2013, where they acquired an International Baccalaureate diploma. In 2010, they also participated in a program at MarineLab, focusing on Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography.

From 2014 to 2018, James Ducker attended the University of San Diego College of Arts and Sciences, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography.

In 2016, they took part in a semester-long program offered by the Sea Education Association (SEA Semester), further expanding their knowledge in Marine Biology, Physical Oceanography, Ocean Policy, and Nautical Science.

Additionally, James Ducker holds several certifications, including being a Certified Lean Practitioner from EMS Consulting Group, Inc. (obtained in July 2019), an Advanced Open Water Diver, and an Enriched Air/Nitrox Diver, both obtained in August 2013. Furthermore, they also obtained their International Baccalaureate Diploma in May 2013 from the International Baccalaureate Organization.
