Quinn Sowells has a diverse background in various roles and industries. They started their career at TechShop, Inc. in 2015 as a Front Desk Inceptionist. In 2016, they became a Resident Assistant at San Francisco State University, where they provided guidance and managed living operations for freshman science and tech majors.
The following year, in 2017, Quinn worked as an Instructor for iD Tech Camps, teaching tech courses such as 3D printing, Maya modeling, and game design to aspiring children. They also managed a schedule of 3D printed objects and provided expertise in Autodesk Maya and 3D printing operations.
In the same year, Quinn also had a role at TechShop, Inc. as a Dream Consultant/Facilities Technician. They interacted with and assisted TechShop members with their projects, performed general facilities work, and maintained equipment. They also created a safe and engaging environment for members, gave tours, and provided project input.
In 2018, Quinn gained further experience as a Makerspace Technician at theShop.build, where they contributed to the operations of a makerspace. They also served as the Vice President of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers at SF State, from 2018 to 2019.
From 2019 to 2023, Quinn worked at ACIES ENGINEERING as both a Mechanical Design Engineer and a Plumbing Design Engineer. They contributed to designing mechanical and plumbing systems and were involved in the overall design process.
Currently, Quinn is employed as a Field Service Engineer at Olyns Recycling, starting in 2023.
Quinn Sowells obtained a High School Diploma from Kingsburg High School from 2011 to 2015. Subsequently, from 2015 to 2019, Sowells attended San Francisco State University and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, in April 2017, Sowells obtained certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR from the American Red Cross.
