Maison Horton

Maison Horton has a diverse work experience starting in 2015. They began as a Peer Academic Leader for World Regional Geography and then became a Creative & Copy Editing Intern for 13th Floor Magazine. In 2016, they served as a Second-Year Peer Mentor for the Thompson Learning Community and also worked as a Creative and Copy Editor for 13th Floor Magazine. They continued their involvement with 13th Floor Magazine as the Lead Poetry Editor from 2018 to 2019. Maison then moved on to the Dr. C.C. and Mabel L. Criss Library, where they worked as a Service Desk Student Assistant from 2014 to 2018, and later as a Reference Associate & Display Coordinator from 2019 to 2021. They also served on various committees during their time at the library. Maison's work experience also includes a Communications Specialist role at the University of Nebraska Medical Center from 2021 to 2022. Currently, they are working as a Research & Compliance Analyst for Omaha National, where they provide research and content production services to different departments within the company.

Maison Horton attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2014 to 2019, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Creative Writing with a focus on Fiction & Poetry. They graduated summa cum laude. During their time at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Maison also pursued an undergraduate minor in Communication Studies from 2017 to 2019.

In 2018, Maison briefly studied Creative Writing at the University of Roehampton, although no specific degree was mentioned.
