James Gately (Jimbo)

James (Jimbo) Gately possesses extensive experience in aviation and technical writing. Currently serving as a DC-10 and B-707 Air Refueling Flight Engineer at Omega Air Refueling Services, Inc. since November 2017, Gately previously held the position of NAVAIR Systems Technical Writer at CDI Engineering, focusing on the update and revision of NAVAIR manuals from October 2014 to November 2017. Gately also worked as a Technical Data Designer for Boeing from September 2009 to June 2014, specializing in V-22 and CH-47 rotary wing platforms. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Gately served from September 1986 to July 2008 as a KC-10A and C-141B Flight Engineer Supervisor, Evaluator, and Instructor at McGuire AFB in New Jersey. Gately's education includes studies at the Community College of the Air Force from 2001 to 2003.
