Jonathan Simmons

Jonathan Simmons became OMERS Chief Financial Officer in January 2014. In this role, Jonathan is accountable for all financial functions, including financial planning, reporting, investment valuation, actuarial matters, balance sheet management, financing and tax.

Prior to joining OMERS, Jonathan was a Partner at PwC for more than a decade, where he led PwC Canada's insurance practice. Born in Bristol, England, Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Warwick, with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Microbial Technology and he is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants (FCPA) of Ontario.

He is also a director of the Economic Investment Trust, a TSX-listed investment company and a founding chapter member of the Canadian Chapter of Accounting for Sustainability (A4S). Since 2007, Jonathan has served as Director at Futurpreneur Canada, which provides young entrepreneurs with start-up financing and mentoring.
