Wei-Chung Wang

Dr. Wei-Chung Wang has more than 20 years of semiconductor industry experience and has served as Executive Vice President of Global Manufacturing and Operations of ON Semiconductor since January 2021. Previously, he was Executive Vice President of Worldwide Manufacturing and Operations at Cypress Semiconductor, responsible for overseeing fab and assembly/test, foundry/subcons, supply chain and packaging development. Dr. Wang elevated Cypress’ operational excellence, managed important transfer and ramp projects, accelerated process and packaging development in addition to improvements in cost, quality and manufacturing flexibility. Prior to Cypress, he was Senior Vice President of Operations at Fairchild Semiconductor, managing both internal and external manufacturing, supply chain operations, procurement, product and test engineering and packaging development. He streamlined Fairchild’s manufacturing footprint, improved the flexibility of manufacturing network, and enabled silicon and packaging development of SiC, HV and BCD technologies. Before joining Fairchild, Dr. Wang held numerous executive and management roles at Maxim Integrated, TSMC and Intel. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from National Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan and a master's degree and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Purdue University.
