Aleks O.

Aleks O. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They started their career as a Computer Lab Monitor at the J. Prior Library, Ohio State University Medical Center, where they provided technical support and troubleshooting services.

In 2008, Aleks worked as an Application Development Intern at Great American Financial Resources. They then progressed to become an Application Developer at the same company in 2009. Here, they contributed to the development of a medium-scale n-tier service architecture using .NET 4.0, WCF RESTful services, Entity Framework, and Dependency Injection.

In 2012, Aleks joined Empiricom Technologies Ltd as a Developer. During their time there, they played a crucial role in migrating the company's infrastructure from on-premises to AWS. They also implemented Jenkins CI deployment pipelines and set up deployments using Chef.

Aleks then joined Ditto AI Limited in 2017 as a Lead Developer. Here, they worked on various projects such as developing an Alexa Healthcare demo application and re-architecting core libraries and applications to enhance maintainability and speed up development. They also played a significant role in adapting and migrating existing production applications to utilize AWS serverless infrastructure, resulting in cost savings and improved performance.

Aleks continued their journey at Ditto AI Limited as a Solutions Architect starting in 2018. In this role, they designed a fully serverless, microservice architecture for a greenfield project using various AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, DynamoDB, and more. They also spearheaded the use of GraphQL as the query language of choice for new APIs. Aleks was instrumental in designing and implementing application and infrastructure security, which contributed to the company acquiring ISO 27001 accreditation.

Most recently, Aleks joined On the Beach in January 2022 as a Technical Architecture Practice Lead. Their responsibilities in this role include leading the technical architecture practice and providing expertise in designing and implementing architectural solutions.

Throughout their career, Aleks has consistently demonstrated their proficiency in various technologies and shown a strong focus on delivering scalable and secure solutions.

Aleks O. completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer & Information Science from The Ohio State University. This educational journey took place from 2005 to 2009.
