Sam Welek

Sam Welek has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Sam currently works at On the Beach as a Senior Software Engineer, a role they have held since January 2023. Prior to this, Sam worked as a Software Engineer at the same company from April 2021 to January 2023.

Before joining On the Beach, Sam worked at Fujitsu from September 2017 to January 2021. During their time at Fujitsu, they held multiple roles including Senior Software Developer, where they delivered Oracle APEX onto Oracle Cloud for various Public and Private Sector accounts. Sam also mentored and coached agile best practices. Additionally, they served as a Software Developer, leading and helping form an agile team and designing and developing applications utilizing React, Node, TypeScript, and MySQL hosted on AWS.

Sam's career started with an industrial placement year at Koderly, where they worked as a Software Engineer from July 2015 to June 2016, focusing on the development, testing, delivery, and support of core applications for the Travel industry using .NET, C#, MSSQL, and ASP.

Overall, Sam has gained experience in various software engineering roles, demonstrating their proficiency in different technologies and their ability to contribute to projects in both public and private sectors.

Sam Welek completed their education at The University of Salford from 2013 to 2017, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) degree in Software Engineering with Professional Experience. In addition to their degree, Sam has obtained several certifications including M100: MongoDB for SQL Pros from MongoDB University in March 2022, Graph Developer - Associate from Apollo GraphQL in November 2021, and Professional Scrum Developer 1 (PSD 1) from Scrum.org in September 2020.
