Salva Guardiola has been working in the field of biophysics and engineering since 2011. In that year, they completed a research internship at GlaxoSmithKline, where they gained experience in chemical synthesis and analytical and purification techniques. In 2013, they began their PhD studies at IRB Barcelona, where they designed, synthesized, and evaluated peptides to target therapeutically relevant proteins. In 2017, they were a visiting PhD student at the University of Washington Institute for Protein Design. In 2020, they were appointed as an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and also began working as a Senior Scientist in Antibody Engineering & Protein Biophysics and a Scientist in Antibody Discovery & Engineering at Ona Therapeutics.
Salva Guardiola studied Pharmaceutical Sciences at Universitat de Barcelona from 2006 to 2011, earning a Pharmacy degree. Salva then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Advanced Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Universitat Jaume I from 2012 to 2013.
