Sunil Mallya

Vice President Of Engineering at OncoHealth

Sunil Mallya has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Sunil began their career at Infosys as a Software Engineer, where they enhanced and streamlined applications in the Real Estate space for Northwestern Mutual. Sunil then served as a Technology Analyst for Aon Corporation, leading a team of developers and contributing to the migration of multiple products from the legacy system to the new system. Sunil received the Most Valuable Player award for their work on this project.

At Infosys, Sunil continued to advance their career as a Technology Lead for Allstate Insurance. In this role, they were responsible for maintaining and enhancing Allstate's consumer-facing portfolio of applications. Sunil handled various activities such as requirements gathering, code review, release planning, and disaster recovery exercises.

Sunil eventually joined AIM Specialty Health as a Senior Engineering Manager. While in this role, they oversaw the design, refinement, and delivery of key capabilities for Oncology. Sunil also introduced tools such as Git, SonarQube, and automated database deployment to improve development efficiency and code quality. Additionally, Sunil led the enterprise transformation from Waterfall to SAFe Agile and championed 100% security compliance.

After leaving AIM Specialty Health, Sunil joined Elevance Health as a Senior Engineering Manager. There, they conceived and developed a Configuration Management app, reduced errors, and established a security compliance team. Sunil also served as a Principal Software Engineer, leading the Oncology development team in architecting and developing various capabilities.

Currently, Sunil serves as the Vice President of Engineering at OncoHealth. In this role, they lead the development of Iris, a 24x7 telehealth service for cancer patients. Sunil also oversees the digital prior authorization platform called OneUM.

Throughout their career, Sunil has demonstrated strong technical skills and a focus on innovation and efficiency.

Sunil Mallya completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer and Information Sciences, General from Visvesvaraya Technological University. Sunil attended this university from 2002 to 2006. In addition to their undergraduate degree, Sunil obtained several certifications throughout their career. Sunil received the LOMA 280 certification from LOMA in January 2007, followed by the LOMA 290 certification from the same institution in January 2008. In September 2011, they obtained the INS 21 certification from AICPU. Most recently, Sunil earned the Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in December 2020.
