Shan Jin

Associate Director Analytical Development CMC at Oncorus

Shan Jin has a diverse work experience in the field of analytical development and pharmaceutical development. They started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Medicine at Harvard Medical School from July 2009 to September 2011. Following that, they worked at Charles River Laboratories as a Scientist II from September 2011 to January 2014 and later as a Principal Scientist from May 2013 to January 2014. Shan then joined ImmunoGen, Inc. as a Scientist, where they worked in Analytical & Pharmaceutical Development from January 2014 to June 2015. They were later promoted to Scientist II and continued their role until January 2017. After leaving ImmunoGen, Inc., Shan joined QLB Biotherapeutics as a Senior Scientist I in Analytical Development from January to December 2017 and then as a Senior Scientist II from December 2017 to September 2018. They transitioned to Shire, which later became Takeda, where they held the position of Senior Scientist, Analytics from October 2018 to December 2019. At Shire/Takeda, Shan was involved in various projects related to Analytical Development and Bioanalytics, including Mass Spec Lead, project team leadership, outsourcing management, CMC and IND filing support, and method development and transfer. From December 2019 to August 2021, Shan worked at Ziopharm Oncology as an Associate Director, leading Analytical Development & Operations. Their role included responsibilities such as method development/qualification/validation, compendial assay verification, stability studies, DS/DP process, tech transfer, quality writing, and IND filing support in the field of gene therapy. Currently, Shan Jin holds the position of Associate Director, Analytical Development, CMC at Oncorus, starting from August 2021.

Shan Jin began their educational journey in 2000 at Peking University, where they received their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 2004. Shan then pursued further academic advancement and attended Georgia State University from 2005 to 2009. During this time, Shan Jin successfully completed their Ph.D. in Bioanalytical and Bioorganic Chemistry. Following their doctoral studies, Shan Jin engaged in postdoctoral research at Harvard University from 2009 to 2011, specializing in Chemical Biology.
