Björn Bornemann has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Björn began their career as a student industrial design at FH Hannover in 1999. After completing their studies, they worked as an Industrial Designer at Dyson ltd. from 2005 to 2007, focusing on developing vacuum cleaner solutions for the US market. Björn then joined Suunto Oy as an Industrial Designer, where they remained for nearly eight years, working on various projects.
In 2015, Björn transitioned to the role of Industrial Design Consultant at Volvo Construction Equipment, contributing to improving the design quality and ergonomics of construction equipment machinery. Björn also worked as a Design Engineer (consultant) at Volvo Car Sverige during this time. In 2016, Björn joined IKEA Group as a Design Engineer, initially working on new product development projects in their Cooking, Eating, Decoration segment. Björn then switched to the Kitchen and Dining department, where they were responsible for developing constructive solutions for sinks and worktops.
In 2022, Björn joined ESSIQ AB as a Design Engineer, and in 2023, they moved to OnDosis as a Test Systems Lead (Senior Design Engineer). Throughout their career, Björn has demonstrated their ability to collaborate with suppliers and test laboratories, run full-scale tests, develop CAD models, 2D drawings, and assembly instructions, and contribute to the documentation and performance testing of products.
Björn Bornemann has a solid education history in the field of Industrial Design. From 1999 to 2005, they attended Fachhochschule Hannover and obtained a degree known as Diplom Designer (FH) with a specialization in Industrial Design. In 2002, Björn also participated in an exchange student program at Lahti Ammattikorkeakoulu, further enriching their knowledge and experience in the field. Additionally, in December 2015, they earned a certification in Teamcenter VCC for Catia from Volvo Car Group.
