Sigrid Eeckhout

Sigrid Eeckhout is currently the Co-Chair of OECD/NEA Forum on Stakeholder Confidence and a Bureau Member of OECD/NEA Forum on Stakeholder Confidence at the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency. She is also a Member of the Comité éthique et société at Andra. Previously, she held the position of Head of Communications and Participation at ONDRAF/NIRAS Belgian Agency for Radioactive Waste and Enriched Fissile Materials. Eeckhout has a strong background in communication, with experience as a Communications Manager at EIG EURIDICE and ONDRAF/NIRAS. She also has a scientific background, working as a Beamline Scientist at ID26 at ESRF - European Radiation Synchrotron Facility and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at FWO-Vlaanderen. Eeckhout holds a Ph.D. in Physical Mineralogy and Mössbauer spectroscopy from Ghent University and Bayerisches Geoinstitut, and has completed postgraduate studies in Science Communication and specialization in Soil Sciences.
