Liping Liu has worked in a variety of roles since 2007. Liping began their career as a student at Wuhan University, where they focused on remote sensing image data processing and photogrammetry. From 2011 to 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, where they focused on GIS data processing and distributed spatial data mapping service. From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they focused on machine learning, GIS data analysis and mapping, and high performance computing for hydrological algorithms. From 2016 to 2021, they worked at RMS as a Modeler and Senior Analyst, focusing on catastrophe risk modeling and GIS data analysis. In 2021, they began working as a Senior Data Scientist at One Concern.
Liping Liu attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2014 to 2016 and obtained a Master's degree in GIS. Liping also obtained a Master's degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Finally, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry from Wuhan University.
