Ramanand Tewari, PhD

Chief Photonics Design Scientist at One Silicon Chip Photonics

Ramanand Tewari, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of integrated photonics. Ramanand currently serves as the Chief Photonics Design Scientist at One Silicon Chip Photonics. Prior to this, they were the CEO & VP Technology at CodeSScientific Photonics, where they led research, development, and commercialization of photonic components and optical communication systems software products. Ramanand initiated collaborations with researchers from Waterloo and McMaster universities for product development.

From 2017 to 2020, Ramanand worked at various companies including POET Technologies, Huawei Technologies, and Rockport Networks, where they conducted research and development for the design and simulations of hybrid InGaAsP-InP/Silicon SOA gain blocks for data center interconnect applications.

As the Co-Founder & Chief Scientist at MillView Photonics, Ramanand led the research, development, and simulations of wavelength multiplexers and demultiplexers based on different technologies such as Silicon Oxynitride, Silicon Nitride, and Silicon.

Earlier in their career, Ramanand served as the Associate Director of Scientific/Technology Applications and Business Development at Simphotek, where they focused on research and simulations of various photonics materials. Prior to that, they worked at Synopsys Optical Solutions Group and Optiwave Systems Inc., where they contributed to the research, scientific/technology applications, and business development in the field of integrated photonics.

Ramanand Tewari, PhD, has a strong educational background in optical fiber and integrated optics. Ramanand completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Following this, they engaged in postdoctoral research at the Technische Universität Berlin, working under the guidance of Professor Klaus Petermann. During their time at both institutions, Tewari focused on the study of optical fiber and integrated optics.
