Ariel currently serves on the board of the OneVoice Movement. He is President and Director of Maritime Overseas Corporation, a private family management company. He was the co-founder of Waterlogic Plc, where he served as Non-Executive Chairman. He was a director and member of the Audit Committee of Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc., and Senior Vice President and Chief Strategic and Planning Officer. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Chartering and Managing Director of OSG’s management subsidiary in the UK. Ariel has been involved in several educational and philanthropic organizations, serving as a member of several trustee and advisory boards, as well as executive committees for universities and institutions. Ariel Recanati is the spouse of Tal Recanati. Ariel was a Director and Member of the Audit Committee of Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. (“OSG”), a publicly traded company and one of the world’s leading bulk shipping companies engaged primarily in the ocean transportation of crude oil and petroleum products. He was Senior Vice President and Chief Strategic and Planning Officer of OSG from 1998 until 2003. Prior to that, he held numerous positions with subsidiaries of OSG, including Vice President of Chartering and Managing Director of OSG’s management subsidiary in the UK. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics, with a BSc. in Economics. In addition to his work with the PeaceWorks Foundation and OneVoice, Ariel has been involved in several educational and philanthropic organizations, serving as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dalton School, in New York City (until June 2011), Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Leon Recanati Institute for Maritime Studies at the University of Haifa (until July 2016), and as a Member of the Advisory Board of Arnhold Institute for Global Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York (until 2016). Ariel and his wife Tal are also chairs of the American Friends of Darkenu Board.
