Knight Chang attended Newport High School from 1987 to 1991. After completing high school, they enrolled at the University of Washington, where they studied architecture from 1991 to 1996. Following their graduation, Knight attended the National Taiwan Normal University's Madarin Training Center (MTC) from 1996 to 1997 to further their language skills in Mandarin.
