Annakarin Kere

Annakarin Kere has a diverse range of work experience in the scientific field. In 2013, they worked as a Laboratory Intern at North Carolina State University where they assisted in a research project on nuclear matrix attachment regions. Annakarin gained experience in techniques such as ChIP and qPCR during this role. In 2014, Annakarin worked as a Laboratory Assistant at the University of Helsinki where they assisted students in genetechnology laboratory courses. Annakarin also worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Biotechnology, conducting genotyping assays, gateway cloning, and traditional cloning for projects related to phloem differentiation in A. thaliana. In 2015, they took on the role of Team Captain for the Aalto-Helsinki iGEM team, participating in an international synthetic biology competition. In this role, they were responsible for designing laboratory work and managing external relations and sponsors. The following year, Annakarin worked as a Master's Thesis Worker at VTT, focusing on optimizing the use of CRISPR/Cas9 for T. reesei. Annakarin received a Magna Cum Laude Approbatur grade for their thesis. In 2017, Annakarin joined the Sainsbury Laboratory at the University of Cambridge as a Trainee in Molecular Biology Research. Annakarin then transitioned to roles in Blueprint Genetics, starting as a Clinical Development Research Associate, then becoming a Clinical Development Specialist, and finally working as a Scientist. Annakarin'sresponsibilities in Blueprint Genetics included clinical development and conducting research projects. In 2022, Annakarin joined Uute Scientific Oy as a Project Manager and later moved to Onego Bio as a Research Project Manager.

Annakarin Kere completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Helsinki from 2011 to 2014. In May 2011, they also obtained a certification in Hygiene Proficiency from Elintarviketurvallisuusvirasto Evira. Annakarin further pursued their education and earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Helsinki from 2014 to 2017.
