Maarit Jokela

Maarit Jokela is an IPR Specialist at Onego Bio since February 2023, providing consultancy on IPR management. With a long-standing role as an Innovation Manager at the University of Oulu since January 1995, Maarit specializes in the commercialization of research results in life sciences and medical technology, manages the patent portfolio, and trains researchers on IPR matters. Maarit's background includes teaching numerous courses on intellectual property rights and science communication, as well as conducting research on resistin in relation to atherosclerosis and obesity. Previously, Maarit worked as a science journalist and held an IPR Specialist position at Onego Bio in late 2022. Academic qualifications include a PhD and M.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Oulu.
