Justine Ouano

Justine Ouano has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. In their most recent position as the Director of Teacher Support at OneGoal, they are responsible for overseeing teacher support initiatives. Prior to that, Justine held roles at Global Kids, where they served as the Assistant Director of High School Programs, Youth Development Specialist, Community School Director, and Senior Trainer. Justine also worked as the Lead Staff for Global Kids 2014 American Youth Leadership Program. Justine's experience includes a role as a Graduate Researcher at New York University's Hip-Hop Education Center, where they conducted research and organized surveys on women's issues. Justine was also an Independent Study Co-Facilitator at New York University, where they designed and facilitated a course on intergroup dialogue. Justine has also worked at Global Kids, Inc as a College Readiness Intern and at Jumpstart as a Core Member. Justine started their career as an External Organizer at SEIU, where they organized and recruited workers for better pay and healthcare. Justine's early experience includes working as a Campus Organization Liaison at the Cesar Chavez Community Action Center, where they recruited and collaborated with various organizations.

Justine Ouano pursued their education at San Jose State University from 2002 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Following this, they furthered their education at New York University from 2009 to 2011, completing a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership, Politics, and Advocacy.
