Byeng Dong Youn

Byeng Dong Youn has worked in various positions since 2005. Byeng Dong began their career as an Assistant Professor at Michigan Technological University, followed by a similar position at University of Maryland in 2007. In 2010, they joined Seoul National University as an Assistant Professor, eventually becoming a Full Professor, Director, Associate Chair, and Associate Professor. In 2014, they became a Technical Consulting Fellow at Samsung Electronics. In 2016, they founded OnePredict and served as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In 2018, they were appointed as an Advisory Board Member of Future-Tech Forum at LG Electronics, President and Senior Vice President at The Korean Society of Prognostics and Health Management (KSPHM), and Reliability Advisory Committee Chair at Hyundai Motor Company. In 2019, they were made a Fellow at Prognostics and Health Management Society. In 2022, they became an Associate Member at The National Academy of Engineering in Korea (NAEK).

Byeng Dong Youn received their B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Inha University from 1989 to 1996. Byeng Dong then went on to earn their M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology from 1996 to 1998. Finally, they completed their Ph.D. in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Iowa from 1998 to 2001.
