About us 

At Onnu, our mission is to deliver what the world needs most – substantial and scalable carbon removal. Through a combination of our own projects and consultancy services, we help businesses transform their waste biomass into valuable biochar – removing carbon, reducing environmental impact and saving money. We do this using pyrolysis, a remarkable technology which offers renewable energy and carbon removal at the same time.

Our largest project to date will be tackling the environmental crisis in the Wye Valley with the launch of localised pyrolysis hubs for poultry manure. This project is the first of its kind and we’re excited to be expanding the potential for innovative carbon removal projects!

About the role

Day-to-day activities will include:

  • Developing, owning and managing Onnu’s Social Media Strategy
  • Help to shape, define, and champion the Onnu brand on Social channels
  • Research the Biochar industry and online biochar conversations
  • Research our Target Customers and online trends related to their sectors
  • Oversee the development and scheduling of Social content across all channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook)
  • Create a rolling Social content schedule in advance, plus reactionary posts
  • Responsible for the creation of social assets (Videos, Graphics, Carousels, Static Images, PDFs, Brochures etc.) to be scheduled across our channels
  • Research and engage with online communities across core channels
  • Grow page followers and page likes through community engagement
  • Own, manage and monitor the social metrics and KPIs for our channels
  • Provide performance reports and actionable strategies - using analytics to make data-driven, informed decisions

The ideal candidate

  • More than 2 years’ experience as a Social Media Manager

  • Blend of strategic and creative abilities

  • Good copywriting skills for captions, short-form and long-form content

  • Good knowledge of digital, social, content and reactive marketing

  • Solid understanding of LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter marketing

  • Good understanding of creating original content on Social Media for different stages of the marketing funnel

  • Solid experience of growing a page following for a B2B UK company

  • Solid experience of building an online social community

  • Desirable - experience within UK Sustainability or B2B green energy industry

  • Desirable - advanced video editing skills

  • Desirable - extensive experience with LinkedIn content creation

  • Desirable - experience with managing Tiktok and Youtube channels
